• Geography

Libya is located in north Africa by the southern coast of the Mediterranean, bordered from the east by Egypt and Sudan, From the south Chad and Niger, and from the west Algeria and Tunisia.
Libya is a member in a number of Regional and International organizations for example: United Nations, African Union, Western Arab Union Arab League, OPEC … etc.

• Population and Aera

The Libyan Population is 6.742 million, and it is a small number comparing with the surface of the country which is 1,759,541 Km2, holds the rank 17th internationally in terms of Surface and the 4th biggest country in Africa and it has the longest coast among the Mediterranean with a length of 1,955 Km.

• National Resources

Libya has recorded the highest rate of human development in Africa, and fourth higher local production in the continent for the year 2009 after Seashell, Guiney Bissau due to its significant oil reserves and lower population, Libya has the tenth oil reserves confirmed in the world and the 17th oil producer country in the world.

• Economy

The volume of the Libyan economy is 90.89 billion USD (2016 Estimation), and it depends on oil sector and centrally managed. The Libyan economy was affected negatively in the period of international sanctions at the period of siege in the nineties, the Libyan government worked on activating the economic reformation after raising the international sanctions in 2003 and the American sanctions in 2004.

• Oil

Oil forms approximately 94% of the Libyan incomes of foreign currencies and 60% of the governmental incomes and 30% from the total local production. Libya has the ability to produces 1.6-3 million barrels of oil daily (2014 estimations).

• Gas

Records confirms that Libya's natural Gas production rate reaches the 3.67 Billion m3, with a proven natural reserves of 1.54 trillion m3.
